Dear Fellow Delegates,
The Oklahoma Federation of Republican Conservatives (OKFCR) wishes to reaffirm our commitment to working collaboratively with the Oklahoma GOP to ensure a fair and effective delegate process while promoting active youth involvement in our party.
To that end, we propose the following compromises regarding Rule 16:
- Keep the Current System with a Modification: Maintain the existing structure where delegates from each county are present, but adjust voting power so that it is proportional to the smallest county. This ensures fair representation across all counties while preventing any county from exerting disproportionate influence.
OR
- Maintain All Current Delegate Abilities with Non-Voting Status: Continue to allow the 10 youth delegates (and any other delegates) to submit rule changes and participate fully in floor discussions and deliberations, but without voting power. This preserves their ability to contribute actively to the party process while respecting the need to keep voting influence within the existing framework.
Our goal is to find a balanced solution that preserves fair county representation, promotes meaningful youth participation, and maintains party unity. We believe this approach offers a constructive path forward.
We appreciate your consideration and look forward to working together in the best interest of our party.
Sincerely,
OKFCR
